Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Browns a A.

The Tyler Shough pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 50 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Woodson. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

Tyler Smith gives the group a proven body among the projects. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In No. 22 they get a premier pass rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
A reach for Benjamin Morrison in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick44 Rnd2 Wyatt Milum
Wyatt Milum in pick 44 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jack Bech
No edge and no loss on Jack Bech in the 67th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick76 Rnd3 Mason Taylor
They took Mason Taylor at par in Round 3, Pick 12, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick94 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba at slot 94 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick103 Rnd4 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at the 103rd pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
They barely believed it either: Jordan Phillips still on the board at slot 134. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick165 Rnd5 Jack Nelson
They robbed the room for Jack Nelson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Pick181 Rnd6 Kurtis Rourke
Kurtis Rourke in the 181st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick194 Rnd6 Raheim Sanders
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Raheim Sanders in pick 194, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick216 Rnd6 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in No. 216 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
Jason Marshall Jr. at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick221 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser at pick No. 221 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick257 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson in the 257th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
