They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. J.J. McCarthy is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That Taylor-Demerson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. If McCarthy pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In the end it comes back to J.J. McCarthy, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
