Draft Grade — Browns
Overall D+
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureA+
The Browns got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+.

The tape said wait; the Browns did not. Barryn Sorrell went at the 232nd overall pick, a good 96 picks before the board was ready. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

However the rest shakes out, Shough at that price is a win they earned. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Adding Aaron Jones by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick103 Rnd4 Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson slipping to Round 4, Pick 2 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick161 Rnd5 Emery Jones Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Emery Jones Jr. at pick 161 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick194 Rnd6 Pat Bryant
Pat Bryant at the 194th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in the 202nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick216 Rnd6 Tyler Shough
They barely believed it either: Tyler Shough still on the board at pick No. 216. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed at slot 217 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick226 Rnd7 Jason Marshall Jr.
You do not let a cornerback like Jason Marshall Jr. reach the 226th pick and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick232 Rnd7 Barryn Sorrell
A wild overpay on Barryn Sorrell in No. 232, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jordan Hancock
Circle this one: Jordan Hancock at slot 233 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick257 Rnd7 Corey Kiner
Corey Kiner in pick 257 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
