Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

Larceny in the 77th pick lands the Vikings a B, Lew and all. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Vikings watched Connor Lew slide 35 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get an enforcer at safety, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles in the 45th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick77
Rnd3
Connor Lew
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 77 is the definition of value, full stop. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick97
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
No drama and no debate, Nicholas Singleton went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick171
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
They took Davison Igbinosun at par in pick No. 171, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick206
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson at pick 206 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick227
Rnd7
Malik Hartford
Malik Hartford at the 227th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick234
Rnd7
Barion Brown
Barion Brown in slot 234 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
