SD DRAFTING FOR THEVikings

Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Reed-Adams: B-. Somebody in the 82nd pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Vikings sat still while Ar'maj Reed-Adams, the No. 60 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Davis to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In pick No. 18 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
By-the-book stuff, Eli Stowers at slot 50 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick82
Rnd3
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
They will replay Ar'maj Reed-Adams at pick 82 for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick97
Rnd3
Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks at the 97th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick118
Rnd4
Jeremiah Wilson
A tidy bit of business in the 118th pick, where Jeremiah Wilson graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick157
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Taylen Green at the Round 5 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick173
Rnd5
Xavier Nwankpa
No edge and no loss on Xavier Nwankpa in Round 5, Pick 35; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick196
Rnd6
Elliot Washington II
A premium they did not need to pay, Elliot Washington II a notch or two before his time. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick208
Rnd6
J.C. Davis
They jumped the gun on J.C. Davis, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick231
Rnd7
Rico Flores Jr.
The board had Rico Flores Jr. higher than the 231st pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A need, and now a little less of one.
