Larceny in No. 206 lands the Vikings a B, Dotson and all. You build a draft on nights like this. Mello Dotson had no business being available in Round 6, Pick 28, and the Vikings did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In the 30th overall pick they get a run-stuffing presence up front, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick94
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
The board fumbled TreVeyon Henderson all the way to pick 94, and they scooped it up. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick140
Rnd5
Jake Majors
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 1 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick165
Rnd5
Luke Kandra
Steal is underselling it; Luke Kandra at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick181
Rnd6
Joshua Farmer
Taking Joshua Farmer in pick No. 181 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick206
Rnd6
Mello Dotson
They will replay Mello Dotson at No. 206 for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick217
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
They barely believed it either: Jaylen Reed still on the board at slot 217. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
