Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB FutureC+
The Vikings did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

The Vikings went off the board in a big way for Jackson Hawes, 80 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In No. 29 they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
Pick79 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
Omarr Norman-Lott at the 79th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick97 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Kevin Winston Jr. at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick140 Rnd5 LeQuint Allen
LeQuint Allen at slot 140 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick176 Rnd5 Jackson Hawes
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jackson Hawes well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 Logan Parr
They paid up for Logan Parr at Round 7, Pick 27 when waiting would have done the job. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
