Draft Grade — Vikings

FutureB-
The Vikings fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. The Vikings put a flag in the ground for R.J. Mickens, 32 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Landing Walker that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick45
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Somehow Jalon Walker was still sitting there in pick 45, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick77
Rnd3
Tate Ratledge
Nothing to complain about; Tate Ratledge went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117
Rnd4
Terrance Ferguson
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Terrance Ferguson. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick139
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
Damien Martinez at No. 139 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick151
Rnd5
Seth McLaughlin
They left a pile of value on the table to take Seth McLaughlin this early at the 151st overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick187
Rnd6
R.J. Mickens
R.J. Mickens at the 187th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
