Joe Manuck DRAFTING FOR THEVikings

FutureA-
The Vikings kept it disciplined and banked a B. The Vikings did not so much draft Johntay Cook as overpay for him, 62 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
On value alone, Sabb makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a bell-cow for the offense at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
A tidy little value on Anthony Hill Jr. in pick 43, a step better than break-even. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick83
Rnd3
A.J. Harris
A quiet steal in the 83rd pick: A.J. Harris for less than the market said. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick97
Rnd3
Keon Sabb
They will replay Keon Sabb at the 97th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick120
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
By-the-book stuff, Bryce Lance at pick No. 120 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick155
Rnd5
Max Iheanachor
Max Iheanachor at slot 155 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick161
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A premium they did not need to pay, Davison Igbinosun a notch or two before his time. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick197
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at the 197th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick200
Rnd6
Roderick Kearney
Roderick Kearney at the Round 6 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick226
Rnd7
Bear Alexander
Bear Alexander in pick 226 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick242
Rnd7
Johntay Cook
They talked themselves into Johntay Cook at Round 7, Pick 27, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
