There is reaching, and then there is Chico Bennett Jr. at No. 234. The Broncos jumped the board by 45 and dared it to prove them wrong. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Edwards at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
