Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureC
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Patriots.

The Nick Martin pick is the one that will follow the Patriots into the fall. They took him 55 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Watts. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the 4th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
They paid up for Donovan Ezeiruaku at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick69 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
A reach on Ozzy Trapilo in the 69th overall pick; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at Round 3, Pick 7 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick77 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Xavier Watts at pick No. 77 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick106 Rnd4 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in pick 106 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick144 Rnd5 Trevor Etienne
No drama and no debate, Trevor Etienne went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217 Rnd7 Nazir Stackhouse
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 217, where Nazir Stackhouse graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick220 Rnd7 Nick Martin
Value said wait; Nick Martin in Round 7, Pick 4 says they were not listening. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick238 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
A tidy little value on Isaac TeSlaa in pick 238, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
