The Texans did not so much draft Jordan Jefferson as overpay for him, 26 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Melton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
