Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Elic Ayomanor got past him. The Texans do not have to explain a thing at pick 120.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Mendoza pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
