Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Texans.

Nobody else had Oronde Gadsden II anywhere near slot 246. The Texans did, by 26 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. That Savaiinaea pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In slot 30 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value.
Pick61 Rnd2 Jonah Savaiinaea
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jonah Savaiinaea at the Round 2 slot is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. slipping to pick No. 94 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick130 Rnd4 Jordan Hancock
No edge and no loss on Jordan Hancock in No. 130; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick164 Rnd5 Donovan Edwards
Donovan Edwards slid further than he should have, and the 164th pick is lovely value for the running back. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246 Rnd7 Oronde Gadsden II
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Oronde Gadsden II well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
