You can draft well and still miss the point. The Texans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most.

They will need Spears-Jennings to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They banked enough surplus on Banks to cover a lot of smaller sins. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
