Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

ValueB

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Texans: B-. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Texans walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
On value alone, Chambliss makes the weekend a net positive. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In No. 28 they get a security blanket over the middle, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
No edge and no loss on Olaivavega Ioane in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter in pick 59 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Jadarian Price slipping to the 69th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick106
Rnd4
Caden Curry
They did well to land Caden Curry in the 106th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick128
Rnd4
Trinidad Chambliss
They let Trinidad Chambliss come to them and pounced at slot 128. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick165
Rnd5
Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa at Round 5, Pick 27 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick243
Rnd7
Tony Grimes
Tony Grimes in pick No. 243 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick244
Rnd7
Luke Hasz
Luke Hasz in slot 244 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
