Larceny in No. 236 lands the Texans a B-, Jones and all.

The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Christian Jones, the No. 203 name on the board, in the 236th pick.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Johnson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick59 Rnd2 Brandon Dorlus
They went early on Brandon Dorlus in pick No. 59, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick85 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
They let Johnny Wilson come to them and pounced at pick 85. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick124 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
No drama and no debate, Tommy Eichenberg went about where he belonged in No. 124. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick128 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
Value said wait; Theo Johnson in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick161 Rnd5 Renardo Green
Renardo Green at the 161st overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick236 Rnd7 Christian Jones
Christian Jones at slot 236 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jase McClellan
Somehow Jase McClellan was still sitting there in the 245th pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
