Draft Grade — Texans

Harris should have been long gone. The Texans pounced, and earned a B. When a board-topper like Tre Harris slides to No. 120, you do not overthink it, and the Texans did not.
They are betting Collins proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Abdul Carter
Abdul Carter at No. 24 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tacario Davis
Tacario Davis at the 41st pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick56
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in slot 56 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in pick 88 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick120
Rnd4
Tre Harris
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Alfred Collins
This one needs a full-page explanation: Alfred Collins in the 155th overall pick, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick216
Rnd7
Jalon Daniels
They took Jalon Daniels at par in Round 7, Pick 24, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
