Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Eagles, and a B- to prove it.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Eagles reached some 105 spots for Torricelli Simpkins III, and value like that does not grow back. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The Tuten pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Malaki Starks
In pick 32 they get a rangy last line of defense at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick64 Rnd2 Alfred Collins
Nice patience on Alfred Collins, who had no business lasting to No. 64. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick96 Rnd3 Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins in the 96th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Ajani Cornelius
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ajani Cornelius. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick161 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
A real head-scratcher, Oronde Gadsden II in Round 5, Pick 23 is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Torricelli Simpkins III
They talked themselves into Torricelli Simpkins III at pick No. 164, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick165 Rnd5 Bhayshul Tuten
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bhayshul Tuten at the 165th overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick168 Rnd5 Jason Marshall Jr.
They reached a country mile for Jason Marshall Jr. at Round 5, Pick 30, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
