The Saints lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Saints did exactly that with Jordan Jefferson in pick 206.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They banked enough surplus on Clark to cover a lot of smaller sins. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
