You build a draft on nights like this. Ryan Fitzgerald had no business being available in No. 247, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The veteran additions, Myles Garrett chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
