Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Commanders lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story.

The Commanders put a flag in the ground for Sean Martin, 111 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Put together, it is a D-.

However the rest shakes out, Skattebo at that price is a win they earned. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In pick 27 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau at Round 2, Pick 3 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick60 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
Nice patience on Benjamin Morrison, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick79 Rnd3 Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at slot 79 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick101 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at the 101st pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick118 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Value said wait; Emery Jones Jr. in the 118th overall pick says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick140 Rnd5 Jake Majors
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in pick 140, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146 Rnd5 Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at Round 5, Pick 9 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick202 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick236 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at slot 236 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick239 Rnd7 Julian Fleming
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Julian Fleming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick246 Rnd7 Sean Martin
A wild overpay on Sean Martin in the 246th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
