V DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B

Emmanwori should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B. Somebody in the 61st overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while Nick Emmanwori, the No. 19 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In the Round 1 slot they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at slot 61 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick128
Rnd4
Brashard Smith
Brashard Smith in pick No. 128 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick205
Rnd6
Tyler Cooper
A tidy bit of business in the 205th pick, where Tyler Cooper graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick245
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
They read the board right and Jabbar Muhammad was the payoff at No. 245. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
