Jimmyneutron571 DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons
Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
C+
ValueC-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Falcons and Jackson: C+. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Falcons were there to profit. Donovan Jackson, the No. 82 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 117th pick. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.
The cost of the Kennard reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In pick 15 they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection.
Pick46
Rnd2
Kyle Kennard
Kyle Kennard in Round 2, Pick 14 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick117
Rnd4
Donovan Jackson
They barely believed it either: Donovan Jackson still on the board at No. 117. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick244
Rnd7
Nick Martin
Nick Martin at pick No. 244 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
