Jimmyneutron571 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Chiefs: B. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Chiefs left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
However the rest shakes out, Harris at that price is a win they earned. Every board in the league had Nesbit lower, and that gap is the story.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63
Rnd2
Tre Harris
Tre Harris at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66
Rnd3
Demetrius Knight Jr.
A slide stopped in the 66th overall pick, with Demetrius Knight Jr. worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick95
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Andrew Mukuba at slot 95 is the proof. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick132
Rnd4
Mello Dotson
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mello Dotson. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick256
Rnd7
Bryson Nesbit
A reach on Bryson Nesbit in pick No. 256; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
