Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Buccaneers.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Buccaneers reached some 100 spots for Jalen McLeod, and value like that does not grow back. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

Getting Moore where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Mike Green
In the 19th pick they get a problem off the edge, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
Pick53 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at the Round 2 slot is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jalen McLeod
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jalen McLeod in slot 84, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick120 Rnd4 Jalen Milroe
Taking Jalen Milroe in pick 120 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick158 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
Somehow Malachi Moore was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 19, and they pounced on premier safety value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick237 Rnd7 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in pick No. 237 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
