Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D+
ValueF NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A puzzling weekend of work from the Eagles: D+.

The Eagles looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Trikweze Bridges at slot 64 regardless, 362 picks early. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Royals.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and cornerback is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jay Higgins
In slot 32 they get a three-down second-level presence, a steep price for the projection.
Pick64 Rnd2 Trikweze Bridges
They talked themselves into Trikweze Bridges at Round 2, Pick 32, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick96 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
The board fumbled Jalen Royals all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick129 Rnd4 Donald Chaney
Donald Chaney at the 129th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick162 Rnd5 Carson Vinson
Value said wait; Carson Vinson in pick 162 says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick166 Rnd5 James Burnip
James Burnip slid further than he should have, and pick No. 166 is lovely value for the specialist. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick169 Rnd5 Ryan Fitzgerald
Ryan Fitzgerald slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
