Restrepo should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a A.

The board owed the Bears one, and it paid up: Xavier Restrepo, the No. 66 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 242 like a gift left on the doorstep. Just about everything broke right, and the A follows.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Quenton Nelson pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Bottom line, with Abdul Carter leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
