The Vikings bet the future on Maye. The board says B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Every board in the league had All lower, and that gap is the story. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
