Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B+
ValueA NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
The Jets found their guy under center in Ward: B+.

When a board-topper like Alfred Collins slides to Round 6, Pick 31, you do not overthink it, and the Jets did not. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 8th overall pick they get a passer to set the clock by. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jahdae Barron
Jahdae Barron at the 42nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick57 Rnd2 Walter Nolen
Walter Nolen at slot 57 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick92 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
A tight end of that caliber at pick 92 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick109 Rnd4 Armand Membou
They will replay Armand Membou at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick113 Rnd4 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in No. 113 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick146 Rnd5 Ashton Jeanty
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at Round 5, Pick 7. The roster fit checks out.
Pick157 Rnd5 Jihaad Campbell
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick188 Rnd6 Malachi Moore
Steal is underselling it; Malachi Moore at pick No. 188 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick209 Rnd6 Alfred Collins
Somehow Alfred Collins was still sitting there in the 209th pick, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
