KOOLaid Man DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureB
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Bears a B+. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Tate Ratledge in the Round 2 slot.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Landing Zuhn III that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In pick 24 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Value said wait; Tate Ratledge in pick No. 41 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick44
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
They paid sticker price for Xavier Watts in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72
Rnd3
Quinshon Judkins
A straight-up fair deal on Quinshon Judkins at the 72nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick149
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Emery Jones Jr. at No. 149 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick174
Rnd5
Xavier Scott
Good price on Xavier Scott in slot 174, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick197
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Luke Lachey. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick211
Rnd6
Trevor Etienne
The board had cheaper options than Trevor Etienne at the 211th pick, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick235
Rnd7
Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson at pick 235 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick242
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Somehow Trey Zuhn III was still sitting there in the 242nd overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
