The tape said wait; the Bears did not. Isaiah Major went at pick No. 256, a good 103 picks before the board was ready.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They banked enough surplus on McGlothern to cover a lot of smaller sins.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
