Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

There is reaching, and then there is Francisco Mauigoa at pick 237. The Packers jumped the board by 64 and dared it to prove them wrong.

The Brown pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Azareye'h Thomas
No edge and no loss on Azareye'h Thomas in the 54th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jayden Higgins in pick 63. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick95 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kevin Winston Jr.. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick124 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
Sai'vion Jones in slot 124 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick159 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Logan Brown is a better player than pick No. 159 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick198 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
They liked Joshua Gray enough to skip the value, taking him in the 198th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick237 Rnd7 Francisco Mauigoa
They reached into another round for Francisco Mauigoa, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick250 Rnd7 Teddye Buchanan
They paid sticker price for Teddye Buchanan in Round 7, Pick 34, and that is fine. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
