They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Randolph Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
