You can hear the double-takes from here. The Broncos took Jase McClellan at the Round 2 slot, roughly 145 spots before his name belonged. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Cephus steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
