Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Chargers for Henderson: B-. Call it larceny. TreVeyon Henderson sat on the board until the 86th pick, and the Chargers did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Colston Loveland
In slot 22 they get a matchup weapon at tight end. A real need, handled.
Pick55
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau slipping to Round 2, Pick 23 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick86
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Somehow TreVeyon Henderson was still sitting there in pick 86, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick125
Rnd4
Joshua Farmer
They let Joshua Farmer come to them and pounced at the 125th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick158
Rnd5
Trevor Etienne
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Trevor Etienne in pick No. 158. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick181
Rnd6
Ajani Cornelius
Fair-plus on Ajani Cornelius, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick199
Rnd6
Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A slide stopped in No. 199, with Dont'e Thornton Jr. worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick209
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Value with a capital V on Upton Stout in the 209th overall pick, a genuine coup. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick214
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
No edge and no loss on Luke Lachey in pick 214; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick256
Rnd7
Jabbar Muhammad
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jabbar Muhammad. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
