FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Ravens for Singer: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Dorian Singer slide, and the Ravens were the ones holding the card at the 215th pick. Highway robbery. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back, quarterback and other spots. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick Analysis
Pick47
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
No drama and no debate, Jordan Morgan went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick64
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
A quiet steal in slot 64: Kingsley Suamataia for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick73
Rnd3
Ruke Orhorhoro
Ruke Orhorhoro in pick No. 73 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick95
Rnd3
Maason Smith
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Maason Smith adds a DT-EDGE and leaves running back, quarterback and other spots untouched.
Pick105
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Cam Hart at Round 4, Pick 5 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick134
Rnd4
Max Melton
The board had Max Melton higher than the 134th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick142
Rnd5
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They took Antwaun Powell-Ryland at par in No. 142, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick145
Rnd5
Payton Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Payton Wilson at the 145th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick177
Rnd6
Tre Harris
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tre Harris at slot 177. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick215
Rnd6
Dorian Singer
They will replay Dorian Singer at the 215th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick253
Rnd7
J.J. Weaver
Value with a capital V on J.J. Weaver in the 253rd overall pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
