Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueA+ NeedB TradesD- FutureB-
Sellers should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a B-.

When a board-topper like LaNorris Sellers slides to Round 7, Pick 42, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Arvell Reese
Arvell Reese in No. 62 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick93 Rnd3 Jermod McCoy
Somehow Jermod McCoy was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 29, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jordyn Tyson
They will replay Jordyn Tyson at pick No. 94 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick118 Rnd4 LT Overton
LT Overton at the 118th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick130 Rnd4 Spencer Fano
Spencer Fano in slot 130 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick169 Rnd5 David Bailey
David Bailey in pick 169 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick211 Rnd6 Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton at the 211th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick212 Rnd6 Kenyon Sadiq
Steal is underselling it; Kenyon Sadiq at the 212th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246 Rnd7 Connor Lew
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 246 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
Pick257 Rnd7 LaNorris Sellers
A top-tier quarterback at a bargain, LaNorris Sellers in pick No. 257, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
