Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA FutureB
The 49ers let Gordon II fall into their laps, and walked away with a B+.

When a board-topper like Ollie Gordon II slides to the 249th pick, you do not overthink it, and the 49ers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They will need Jones Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Mason Graham
In slot 17 they get an anchor for the defensive front, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at No. 43 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick49 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
They paid sticker price for Tyleik Williams in Round 2, Pick 17, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan Burch. The roster fit checks out.
Pick99 Rnd3 Ajani Cornelius
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Ajani Cornelius. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick111 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Value said wait; Emery Jones Jr. in pick 111 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick137 Rnd4 Jabbar Muhammad
By-the-book stuff, Jabbar Muhammad at the 137th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick185 Rnd6 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson at the 185th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick226 Rnd7 Xavier Nwankpa
Somehow Xavier Nwankpa was still sitting there in pick 226, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick230 Rnd7 Seth McLaughlin
Steal is underselling it; Seth McLaughlin at slot 230 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick249 Rnd7 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II in No. 249 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick255 Rnd7 Nick Martin
They let Nick Martin come to them and pounced at pick No. 255. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
