Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
Oladapo should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Kitan Oladapo got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at Round 6, Pick 28. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. It is not that Stover is a bad player; it is that the Packers had louder needs to answer first. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They will need Johnson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at the 44th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick59 Rnd2 Kiran Amegadjie
They did well to land Kiran Amegadjie in the 59th pick, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick88 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick91 Rnd3 Cade Stover
A surprising call. With quarterback and interior defensive lineman still to address, they spent slot 91 on Cade Stover, a TE-EDGE they were not short of.
Pick123 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop in No. 123 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick125 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd in pick No. 125 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128 Rnd4 James Williams
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. James Williams in pick 128 leaves quarterback and interior defensive lineman for later.
Pick135 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
The board had cheaper options than Theo Johnson at slot 135, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick164 Rnd5 Braelon Allen
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Braelon Allen in No. 164. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick203 Rnd6 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in the 203rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
A tidy bit of business in pick 217, where Jawhar Jordan graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 J.J. Weaver
A reach on J.J. Weaver in Round 6, Pick 44; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick246 Rnd7 Steele Chambers
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Steele Chambers at the 246th overall pick is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick248 Rnd7 Mark Perry
Fair-plus on Mark Perry, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
