A weekend the 49ers spent ahead of the board, for worse: F.

The 49ers went off the board in a big way for Mike Sainristil, 40 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will answer for taking safety early while running back, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is McMillan.

The verdict is harsh because the weekend was, and there is little to argue.
