There is reaching, and then there is Roman Hemby at pick 218. The Jets jumped the board by 61 and dared it to prove them wrong. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Getting Allar where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. It is not that Allen is a bad player; it is that the Jets had louder needs to answer first.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
