Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B+

TradesA+
FutureB
The Packers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Tanner McLachlan at Round 4, Pick 26 is 82 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
Washington falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the 25th overall pick they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick49
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
Nice patience on Tyler Nubin, who had no business lasting to slot 49. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick53
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper in pick No. 53 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jaylen Wright
They paid up for Jaylen Wright at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at No. 89 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer in pick 90 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick91
Rnd3
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at slot 91 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104
Rnd4
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at safety with quarterback and interior defensive lineman open.
Pick115
Rnd4
Brennan Jackson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Brennan Jackson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125
Rnd4
Malik Washington
Malik Washington at pick 125 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick126
Rnd4
Tanner McLachlan
A wild overpay on Tanner McLachlan in the 126th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in the 255th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
