The Jets did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Maxwell Hairston fell into the 109th overall pick.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Reaching for Hancock left real value on the table behind him. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
