The Packers worked the phones like thieves and earned a A-. Whoever sat across the table from the Packers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
Pick Analysis
Pick65
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
They took Sedrick Van Pran at par in pick 65, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick178
Rnd6
Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader at Round 6, Pick 3 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
