Draft Grade — Bills
Overall C
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureB
The Bills lost the trade table, and the C tells the story.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bills would have aced it. Shilo Sanders at the Round 7 slot is 30 spots clear of where he belonged. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. On value alone, James makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

If Kenneth Grant and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
In pick No. 30 they get a wrecking ball inside, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos in slot 50 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A tidy little value on Jayden Higgins in the 63rd pick, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jordan James
The board had Jordan James higher than Round 4, Pick 31, and the running back fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick170 Rnd5 Que Robinson
Que Robinson in No. 170 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177 Rnd6 CJ West
CJ West at the Round 6 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Jay Higgins at the Round 6 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick257 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
A wild overpay on Shilo Sanders in No. 257, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
