Draft Grade — Colts
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureF
The phones sank the Colts this weekend: D-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Dylan Laube at pick 133 is 38 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Magee falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
In No. 8 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Xavier Worthy
In the Round 1 slot they get a matchup problem out wide, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean is a better player than the 37th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick46 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
No edge and no loss on Xavier Legette in the 46th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128 Rnd4 Kitan Oladapo
A conviction pick on Kitan Oladapo at Round 4, Pick 28 that the board grades a round light. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick133 Rnd4 Dylan Laube
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dylan Laube. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick191 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Magee at pick No. 191 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234 Rnd7 Nick Gargiulo
Nick Gargiulo in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
