A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bears to a D.

The Bears clearly saw something nobody else did in Akeem Dent, taking him 93 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
