Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB- TradesC+ FutureB
Larceny in pick 192 lands the Browns a B-, Etienne and all.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Trevor Etienne slide 50 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Higgins lower, and that gap is the story. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In pick No. 2 they get a featured back. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at the 34th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick67 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
They paid sticker price for Omarr Norman-Lott in Round 3, Pick 3, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jalen Milroe
Jalen Milroe at slot 94 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Savion Williams
The board had Savion Williams higher than the 104th overall pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jay Higgins this early at No. 179. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick192 Rnd6 Trevor Etienne
Steal is underselling it; Trevor Etienne at pick 192 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick200 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
A cornerback of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick216 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Ollie Gordon II at the 216th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick255 Rnd7 Akili Arnold
They barely believed it either: Akili Arnold still on the board at pick 255. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
