Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureB-
The Seahawks lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Seahawks shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
Milton III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. With edge rusher and running back unsolved, spending premium capital on OLB-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48
Rnd2
Junior Colson
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Junior Colson. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick81
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. in slot 81 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102
Rnd4
Javon Solomon
A want over a need in the Round 4 slot: Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE while edge rusher and running back keeps waiting.
Pick118
Rnd4
Josh Newton
Josh Newton at pick 118 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick119
Rnd4
James Williams
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at pick No. 119 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick179
Rnd6
Joe Milton III
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joe Milton III well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick192
Rnd6
Erick All
Erick All at the 192nd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick195
Rnd6
Cornelius Johnson
Cornelius Johnson at pick No. 195 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick235
Rnd7
Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight at No. 235 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
